I've been asked to speak at several events for an amazing sorority - Kappa Delta - and this summer, I was privileged enough to speak at their National Conference in Virginia. Well, little did I know that I would walk away from the event with an invitation to become an honorary member! I've never been an honorary member of anything, so this was a huge surprise and a huge honor. I felt like one of those rock stars that get a honorary degrees from the college they dropped out of - a poor comparison, but you know what I mean. To be honest, I think the last time I was a member of anything was our 4th grade 4-H club - I was quite a disappointment as I continually failed to groom my angora bunnies for competitions and never documented any of the brownie recipes I tried to make. Aaaanyway, I was thrilled to be asked to join such a prestigious, upstanding, and elite group of women, and even more thrilled to accept! The sorority itself has so many amazing partnerships and initiatives that I'm absolutely humbled to be a tiny part of it all. So, a few weeks ago, the Colorado State chapter was kind enough to host the initiation ceremony and I had one of the most memorable evenings ever. I've always just had one sister, but now I feel like I have thousands more :) A big thank you to all the sweet girls at Colorado State for making it possible and for making me feel right at home. Also, a huge thank you to the amazing women at the Kappa Delta headquarters - you've made me feel so welcome and I can't wait to make more memories with you all.
Special shout-out to all my KD girls! xoxo.
