I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am to be writing that word: vacation. Maybe I'll say it again. Vacation! There, it's out of my system now. I've been on the verge of a minor meltdown for some time now (nothing to be concerned about, just your average sick-pregnant-working-mother-of-a-toddler scenario), so I apologize for my absence this summer. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't been that much fun to be around anyway, so you didn't miss much.

Anyhow, I've been criss-crossing the country for the past two weeks visiting friends and relatives and just having all-around fun with my family. We hit up the Mall of America where I immediately made a beeline for the Crewcuts store, and my husband got to witness me get misty-eyed over stacks of baby cashmere cardigans and kid-size ruffle tees. We also went to the zoo where our daughter became obsessed with some tiny monkeys with white moustaches (note to self: find out the proper name for those monkeys). I also did a book signing in my hometown which was wonderful to see so many old friends. My sister had a bridal shower, which was great fun, and we're topping it all off with a week-long stay in Vail, CO. Sixty-degree weather, holla! My lips have never been more chapped and dry, but this is one happy, humidity-free mama.
